Police in north Louisiana are investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old rapper known as Lil Snupe.
The Winnfield Police Department says the entertainer, whose real name was Addarren Ross, died Thursday morning after he was shot twice in the chest at an apartment building in the city. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ross, who lived in Jonesboro, La., recently signed a recording deal with Meek Mill's Dream Chasers label.
Police say they are searching for an unidentified "person of interest" but have not established a motive for the shooting.

Lil Snupe, an 18-year-old rising rapper has reportedly been shot and killed.
The teen rapper who was signed to Meek Mill's Dream Chaser's record label, was shot over a $100 dice game, Global Grind reported.

His manager confirmed the devastating news via Twitter saying that he received a phone call informing him that his artist had died.
"The call I got this morning is un real RIP 2 my Lil n---a lilsnupe," Leem7st tweeted.
Rapper Meek Mill has yet to confirm the news of Snupe's death, but before the shooting he sent out a suspicious tweet urging people to have Snupe call him.
"Tell lil snupe hit me up right now!!!" Meek Mill tweeted June 20.
The Believe It rapper signed Snupe to Dream Chasers, a subdivision of Rick Ross' label Mayback Music record label last year after listening to his mixtape for only 20 minutes.
In an interview with MTV back in February, Snupe recalled how Meek Mill discovered him.
"He was in a van, they was finna pull off," Snupe said. "I went and knocked on the van, on the window. They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 20 minutes later they called me."
Snupe comes from Jonesboro, a small town in Louisiana with a population of less than 5,000 residents.
Billboard reported that at the time of this death, he was living in Baton Rouge.
Speaking on his musical background and his struggles, he seemed to have embraced his background in every way.
"The struggle, we rap like where we come from in the slums. Louisiana is like the boondocks; don't no one make it out from here. So everybody who make it, you can here it from him," he said.
